“The VenuIQ team were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to understand and deliver on what we were trying to achieve.
“The attendees found the live and pre-recorded sessions easy to navigate, and the addition of the Browsealoud software and BSL interpreters meant visually and hearing-impaired delegates could fully participate in the event, despite it being delivered online.”
“Hybrid Event Experience was a great opportunity for attendees to understand the effectiveness of hybrid events, and allowed us to showcase some of the best technology available.”
“All the technology used worked seamlessly together to create an interactive, inclusive hybrid event that worked for both in-person and virtual delegates.”
“VenuIQ took the time to understand our needs for the event and worked closely with us to develop key milestones within our project. The team looked at how their technology could support us and offered ideas that we hadn’t even considered.”
“Our industry experts and guest speakers had nothing but praise for the platform and event, and the majority of our delegates said they found the platform intuitive and easy to use.”
“VenuIQ played a key role in allowing our event to go ahead, providing the technology to maximise engagement amongst delegates whilst keeping social distancing measures in place.
The VenuIQ platform allowed those who could not travel from overseas to take part in the event virtually, and where talks reached full capacity, delegates were able to watch via the app in other areas of the venue.” Jesse Peterkin, head of events at Founders Forum
To Hybrid and Beyond is a free online event for event organisers covering how event tech has been propelled forward 5+ years due to the Covid Pandemic.
VenuIQ’s founders, Philip Mayling and Oliver Rowe, recently appeared on the Event Tech talk show and discussed the importance of getting content right in your virtual event.

What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth is a technology that almost anyone is familiar with. It dates back to 1989 when it was invented by the CTO of Ericsson (remember them?!). It is a technology for exchanging data between fixed and mobile devices over short distances using radio waves. Bluetooth generally operates at a frequency of 2.4GHz. It is a packet-based protocol, which essentially means that data is transmitted in packets over a digital network. After living its first few years without a uniform name, it was christened Bluetooth in 1997 after the 10th Century Danish King Harald Bluetooth. A name that has remained ever such.
In 2006, Developers at Nokia developed a new Bluetooth Standard which became known as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and this is what VenuIQ uses. BLE was developed to overcome challenges that developers had with both traditional Bluetooth and Wifi technology. It was BLE that enabled the Internet of Things world to really take off. Unlike traditional Bluetooth, BLE doesn’t insist on an authenticated handshake (like you would on your phone) but rather sends advertising packets between devices that contain data that can be parsed by the receiving device. This has significant advantages over Wifi in this type of use case, mainly in terms of being hugely more accurate in terms of positioning, ease of deployment of more receiving units (Gateways), and meshing Gateways together to reach more areas with poor network connectivity and lower power usage. In addition, it transmits advertising packets over three separate frequencies to reduce interference (a common issue with RFID).
Whilst the most common use of Bluetooth is connecting mobile phones to cars, AirPods or other devices, as BLE it is used in many more other industries, notably Healthcare, and of course, events.
